ABOUT STAND ALONGSIDE A Ministry of Presence

Stand Alongside is an independent Christian ministry founded and currently led by Michael Parnell. Throughout this website, "I" refers to my personal calling and ministry, while "we" refers to Stand Alongside as the ministry itself—its vision, values and commitment to serving others.

Stand Alongside is an independent Christian ministry. I serve as an Independent Community Pastor and am not affiliated with any particular denomination. My ministry is based on compassionate pastoral presence and working alongside existing churches, charities and professional services where appropriate.

At Stand Alongside, we  believe that no one should have to face life's most difficult moments alone.

Whether someone is living with grief, illness, loneliness, uncertainty or a personal crisis, our mission is simple: to stand alongside them with compassion, hope and practical Christian care.

We believe that presence matters.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer is not having all the answers, but being willing to remain beside someone as they navigate life's storms.

Inspired by the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, Stand Alongside exists to listen, encourage, pray and support people with dignity, respect and genuine compassion.

Our ministry welcomes everyone, regardless of background, denomination or where they are on their faith journey.

We are committed to serving with humility, professionalism and integrity, helping people discover that even in life's darkest moments, they do not have to walk alone.

Our Mission

To stand alongside people during life's most difficult moments by offering compassionate Christian presence, pastoral care, practical support and hope through Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

To become a trusted Christian ministry known for compassionate presence, professional pastoral care and faithfully serving people and communities across the United Kingdom.

Safeguarding & Professional Boundaries

Stand Alongside is an independent Christian pastoral ministry.

We offer pastoral presence, listening, prayer and practical support.

We do not replace medical, psychological, legal or emergency services.

Where appropriate, we encourage and support individuals to access specialist professional care.
