Why can't I hear Him anymore?

There are seasons in life when heaven seems quiet.

You pray.

You wait.

You ask the same questions again and again.

Yet all you hear is silence.

If that is where you are today, you are not alone.

Many faithful people throughout the Bible experienced the same feeling. King David cried out,

"How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?" (Psalm 13:1)

Even Jesus, hanging on the cross, cried,

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

Silence is not always absence.

Sometimes God is doing His deepest work where our eyes cannot yet see it.

Think of a seed buried beneath the soil.

For weeks nothing appears to happen.

Yet beneath the surface, life is quietly growing.

Faith often works the same way.

God has not stopped listening simply because we cannot hear Him.

He has not abandoned us simply because our feelings tell us otherwise.

If today feels silent, keep talking to Him.

Even whispered prayers matter.

Even tears are prayers.

And sometimes the greatest act of faith is simply refusing to stop believing while you wait.

Reflection

Perhaps today your prayer doesn't need many words.

Perhaps it is simply:

"Lord... I'm still here."

Sometimes that is enough.
